What is a Child-Friendly Space?

UNICEF establishes Child-Friendly Spaces in emergencies around the world — safe havens where children can recover and rebuild.

In these spaces, children can:

  • Play, draw, sing, and express themselves
  • Receive psychosocial support
  • Reclaim a sense of safety and routine

These are more than play areas. They’re places of hope, healing, and rebuilding childhood.

Let’s make sure every child can choose play – every day.
