Help Families Survive the Afghanistan Earthquake

On 31 August 2025, a powerful 6.0-6.2 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan near Jalalabad, killing at least 622 people and injuring over 1,500 more. Entire villages have been flattened, and children are among the most vulnerable.

The Crisis Is Urgent

The shallow earthquake hit at 23:47 local time, devastating Kunar, Nangarhar, and Laghman provinces. Widespread destruction has left families trapped under rubble, with landslides blocking rescue routes and making aid delivery extremely challenging. The predominantly fragile housing stock means the population remains highly vulnerable to ongoing aftershocks.
