The Crisis at a Glance
Following a sudden escalation in hostilities, communities across Lebanon have been devastated.
- 29,000 newly displaced people in 24 hours.
- 9,000 children forced to flee.
- 142+ shelters opened, urgently needing mattresses, blankets, and clean water.
UNICEF is on the ground
delivering immediate support to displaced children and families:
- Health & Nutrition: Distributing essential medications and deploying mobile health units to provide rapid medical support and immunisations in displacement hotspots.
- Water & Hygiene: Assessing and providing immediate fuel to water and wastewater facilities to prevent public health risks and ensure families have clean water.
- Child Protection: Identifying injured and separated children, preparing to distribute 10,000 blankets and sleeping bags, and providing psychosocial support for traumatised youth.
