10,000 grassroots families in Hong Kong have benefited from UNICEF HK’s ‘for every child, hygiene’ launched in March 2020. Hence, when the local community was seriously affected by the fifth wave of COVID-19 outbreak in 2022, UNICEF HK rolled out ‘For Every Child, Care & Relief’ community support campaign with over 7,500 underprivileged families receiving the relief package in March and April. Various programmes have also been introduced to care for children’s emotional and mental health during the pandemic. Globally, UNICEF has reached out to affected countries around the world since the start of the outbreak. Besides providing personal protective equipment and relief supplies in full support of the medical staff on the front line to fight against the new coronavirus for children, through the "COVAX Facility", more than 1 billion COVID-19 vaccines have also been delivered to 144 countries and places in need (data as of February 2022) to help end the pandemic. The costs of the pandemic for children are immediate and profound. With your support, we can ensure COVID-19 does not threaten community development and help make families more resilient. UNICEF is leading the charge to respond, to recover and to reimagine a world fit for every child. This starts with building back better and greener; investments in education, child protection, water, health and nutrition. Please donate generously. (In the unusual event that donations for the COVID-19 emergency exceed the needs, we will direct the gift to other emergency programmes to support other children in crises.)
