Following a severe escalation of hostilities and intense airstrikes in Lebanon on 2 March 2026, an estimated 29,000 people—including 9,000 children—have been displaced in just 24 hours. This adds to the 62,000 individuals already internally displaced. Authorities have opened over 142 shelters to accommodate fleeing families, creating an urgent need for essential supplies like clean water, mattresses, blankets, and diesel to operate generators. In response, UNICEF has deployed Rapid Response Teams to distribute life-saving medical supplies, deploy mobile healthcare units, and provide emergency fuel to sustain water facilities.
