In conflict and disaster, children suffer first and suffer most. Today, one in four of the world’s children lives in a conflict or disaster zone. Around the world, more than 30 million children have been displaced by conflict. Each year, UNICEF’s humanitarian programmes provide millions of children and their families in conflicts and other emergencies with a range of life-saving services. UNICEF aims to assist 177.7 million children in 145 countries and regions, including 88.7 million girls and 16 million children with disabilities, which includes: “NUTRITION”, “HEALTH”, “WASH”, “CHILD PROTECTION”, “COMMUNICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT”, “EDUCATION”, “CASH-BASED TRANSFERS”, and “GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE IN EMERGENCIES” in regions being affected. (In the unusual event that donations for the Humanitarian Action for Children exceed the needs, we will direct the gift to support alternative programmes for children in need. )
